Life isn’t perfect– and neither are we. Sometimes we try our best but things still don’t turn out the way we’d hoped. Even when we do meet with success, life is always in flux. I encourage you to view this book not as a one-time read, something that you’ve finished and can now put aside. Rather, think of the methodology that you’ve implemented and the activities you’ve conducted while reading Me, Inc. as an entirely new skill set for managing your life. Keep returning to your Exceptional Living Plan on a regular basis, and you’ll find that you’re able to take on all of life’s challenges — from starting a new job or relationship, to breaking up, to growing older, to dealing with illness — with more grace and ease. Take a look at your Exceptional Living Plan. Have you accomplished the major milestones? Knocked out some of your goals? Solved a couple of problems? Even perhaps achieved an uber-goal? How are you living your life in comparison to your Platinum Standard? If you’ve achieved even a few of your Must-Haves, then you are well on your way to living a more purposeful, fulfilling life. Take a moment to feel good about what you’ve accomplished. Now consider whether any of your priorities have changed. Don’t be afraid to change your strategic imperatives and revise your goals as a result of a shift in priorities. The only thing that shouldn’t change is your Platinum Standard. The more frequently you update your Exceptional Living Plan, the better. It means that you’re keeping on top of life’s changes. You’re embracing the spirit of continuous improvement. However, it can be difficult to stay motivated if you’re going at it alone. It makes sense to enlist the assistance of others to help you keep focused on your self-improvement efforts. This milestone’s activity will allow you to do just that.
